SRTE Training Course Announcement

The FAO
Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO RAP) and MicroBanking
International Foundation (MBI) are pleased to announce the second MicroBanker
Windows SRTE (Standard Run-Time Edition) Training Course. The course will be held from 25 February
to 8 March 2002 at the RAP premises, Bangkok, Thailand for selected
participants. |

A maximum of 10 participants will be
accepted. It is very likely that we
will receive more then 10 applications.
In that case, organizers will select participants on the basis of target
group criteria, qualifications of the applicants and the urgency of

1. Support staff who will become in charge of installation, configuration and support of the system in their organization 2. Trainers who will train end-users in their organization 3. Microfinance experts who want to evaluate the system for possible use in their organization |

Curriculum:

1. Installation and Configuration of the system 2. New features and enhancements over the DOS MicroBanker system 3. Migration from the DOS MicroBanker system 4. Conversion of data from manual records to the computer 5. Introduction to supporting the MSDE or MS SQL database 6. Using the FAO-GTZ MicroBanking software in your bank, NGO or project |

Qualifications: |
Participants need to be fully acquainted with
their organization's office and field operations, procedures and with the
terms and conditions of the financial products and services. They should also be familiar with the
accounting and reporting system and practices of their organization. Participants should bring sample copies of
customer and account records and the GL chart of accounts of their
organization. Participants need to be
familiar with the use of Microsoft Windows.
The course will be conducted in English. Users of the earlier DOS version of MicroBanker
who wish to migrate to the Windows version should bring a copy of their DOS
MicroBanker system, on a zip disk or diskettes. For organizations that will send more than one participant, it is recommended that one participant should meet the above qualification requirements while the second participant should preferable be a computer professional. |

Course
Fee: |
US$ 1,500 (In words, US Dollar One Thousand
Five Hundred) per participant. This fee covers the cost of tutors/trainers,
course material and equipment, coffee and tea during the classroom days. |
|
Other
Costs: |
Air tickets, board and lodging and travel
insurance are to be paid by participants or their organization. A per diem allowance of US$60 per day,
covering board, lodging and incidentals is recommended. Accommodation can be booked through the
course organizers. To facilitate issuance of visa for the Thailand,
organizers may provide a Letter of Acceptance to the course after receipt of
the course fee of US$ 1,500. |
