System Support for the FAO MicroBanking System

Course Contents:
The objective is to enable selected qualified participants to successfully carry out troubleshooting tasks including the identification of a problems and the formulation and implementation of a solution, with or without the assistance of a higher level support provider.

Target Participants
The course caters for computer department personnel who will be in charge of installation and first-level support of the SRTE or EXTE versions of the FAO MicroBanking System in their organization, and who will be in direct contact with local or international second-level support providers
Qualifications
Participants must have prior MicroBanker experience. They should either have followed the MB SRTE course or they should have hands-on experience with the installation and take-on and support of one or more FAO MicroBanking systems, either SRTE or EXTE.
Venue and Date
The course will be conducted in Bangkok, Thailand at the offices of the FAO Regional Office for Asia and Pacific (RAP), from 27 November to 7 December 2000. Further details will be made available to confirmed participants prior to their departure.
Course Fee:
The course fee is US$1,800. This fee includes tutors/trainers, course material and equipment, coffee and tea breaks during classroom days.
Other Costs and Arrangements
Participants or their sponsors must arrange for, and pay for, air tickets, visas, travel and medical insurance's and other travel arrangements. Similarly, they need to provide for an estimated US$80 per day to cover board, lodging and incidentals. To facilitate issuance of visa for the Philippines, organizers may provide a Letter of Acceptance to the course after receipt of the course fee of US$1,800.
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ARRANGE FOR THEIR OWN TRAVEL AND MEDICAL INSURANCE
Number of Participants
A maximum of 10 participants will be admitted and the number of participants should not be less than six. If qualifying applicants for whom course fees have been received exceed 10, organizers will make a selection, based on the target group criteria and qualifications. If less than six applications are received, the course will be cancelled.
